Lyle, a grade-twelve graduate from Oude Molen Technical High School, was the proud recipient of a bicycle obtained via the Bicycling Empowerment Network (BEN).
Lyle is on the mentorship program run by Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Africa (www.bbbssa.org.za), and his "Big Brother", Andy, arranged for Lyle to take extra Math lessons in the run-up to his Matric exams. The lessons were held some distance from Lyle's home, so Andy contacted BEN for assistance in aquiring a good quality, affordable bicycle to assist Lyle in travelling to and from the Math lessons. The arrangement worked very well and Lyle has confidently passed his final Matric exams.
Lyle is now looking for a part-time job, and the bicycle will also assist him in getting to and from a place of work. He will soon be commencing a Business Management Course sponsored by Damelin College, Milnerton for Littles on the BBBSSA Programme.
We congratulate Lyle on his success and thank Andy for all of his support and effort in allowing Lyle to become an empowered youth.
