Marc and Simon

Dear Big Brothers Big Sisters,

I am Simon Mafobole. I am 18 years old. I live in Honyedew. I was told about BBBS and was interested in knowing more about it. After doing my interview, I was introduced to Marc. We met each other at Cresta. I have been looking for someone who can guide me. The first time I met him, I was nervous to know him. I thought I had made a mistake to join BBBS. After talking more to Marc, I saw that it was not a mistake. I think I was lucky, because I was the only one chosen in class. I had never met a kind white man like Marc in the world.

He phoned the hospital in Milpark to find me a job when I finish school. They have agreed that I can start as soon as I finish school. We share our problems together. He asks me about things I did during the week. I show him my books to make sure all my work is correct. I also care about Marc. If he is not happy with something, I give him comfort. He is still planning to take me to the airport, and show me the aeroplanes inside.

Marc also came home to meet my parents. My mother was happy to know Marc. He became part of my family. He also came to visit at school. Marc plans to teach me how to drive a car. He enjoys the same music as me.

I think it was the power of God that sent Marc to me.
