The BBBSSA awards ceremony, held on 4 November 2006 at the Villager Rugby Club in Claremont, was a huge success. The Cape Town team worked long and hard to make the event a day to remember for all the Bigs and their Littles. The atmosphere on the day was filled with energy and excitement as participants proudly received their certificates and gifts.
We were very proud to present special Honorary Awards, for the first time ever. These went to Gill & Wayan and Andy & Lyle for Most successful match, to Lynne & Stephanie and Ricardo & Luciano for Most Promising Match. The Most Committed Match award went to Kathryn & Aqilah. Well Done Bigs and Littles!
Another first, was the presentation of Volunteer Awards to our Deloitte volunteers, namely Darius, Zukiswa, Tenji, Tanya, Aadila and Renee. These helpful folk assisted us in making our schools outing a success. We would like to thank Deloitte Cape Town and the Deloitte Foundation for assisting us in making these events possible. Also, special thanks go to our Board Members: Hamish Leppan – Guest Speaker, Tania Goosen and John Lyners, as well as our Executive Director Sharmala Govender for attending.
Mr Moreira Chonguica kindly attended our awards ceremony and allowed BBBSSA Cape Town to be present at his concert, in order to promote our mentorship programme and recruit more Bigs.
